Has Your Life Insurance Policy Been Rescinded?
Rescission of a life insurance policy is used to describe the reversal, or undoing, of a life insurance contract. Essentially, the insurance company is erasing the existing life insurance policy and denying the beneficiaries their death benefits. The life insurance policy may be rescinded for many reasons, including divorce, misrepresentation, alleged fraud, no insurable interest, suicide, a beneficiary change or a missed premium payment.
